jaime: "tHERE ARE STILL MANY POINTS TO PLAY FOR"
The attacker reflects on the 0-3 loss to Atletico Madrid
Iván Jaime spoke to VCF Media after his first start at Mestalla.
THE POSSIBLE PENALTY
“I think that this was several games within one. We changed the approach a little at the beginning of the second half and I think the team did very well. A goal could have come, there was the penalty appeal, which I didn't see, but everyone said it was a clear penalty.”
BEING COMPETITIVE
“This is football. It's about forgetting losses, sticking with the good things and thinking about the next game. I think the team have shown that we can compete against a great side, and I think we got jammed up at the back. The team were very good, fought hard, and an action that could have changed the game -or a goal- could have made things totally different.”
LEARNING
“We must take away the good things. We don't have to give up because of one game, far from it. We must learn from this game, from the result, from the actions in the game, and stick with the good things.”
GROWING
“There are still many points left to play for and I am 100% sure that we will get them. Personally, as I have said, I have come to contribute, to add to the team and to the club. Little by little I'm feeling better, I'm getting a more into the rhythm of things and I'm continuing to work day by day in the training sessions, to continue improving and to be able to help the team as much as possible.”
